Bernardsville and the Somerset Hills have a remarkable architectural heritage. On Sunday, October 13 at 2:00 pm, Friends of Historic Bernardsville and the Bernardsville Historic Preservation Advisory Committee (HPAC) will host a talk by noted local historian W. Barry Thomson in which he will identify some of the most significant architects who lived and worked here and the interesting and varied structures they created locally and elsewhere.
Mr. Thomson was born and raised in Peapack-Gladstone and received his undergraduate degree at Drew University. He co-authored, with the late Jack Turpin, the two-volume work, “New Jersey Country Houses: The Somerset Hills.” He has written and co-written several articles on many aspects of Somerset Hills history. A noted lecturer on various aspects of architectural and local New Jersey history, he has also prepared nominations of historic sites for the National Public Register of Historic Places
There is no charge to attend the program; advance registration is requested at www.bernardsvillelibrary.org or call the library at 908-766-0118 to sign up.
